Fantasy at Williams

It actually makes sense that on this day when all of nature is in an uproar over the artificial time change that things would be a little 'different' and so it was that when we went to our usual coffee shop (Williams) things were not as usual.  It was as though a veil of sorts had been lifted and the true nature of things was disclosed.  At a table all by herself, a young woman in a pastel floral top with hair dyed to match, was very obviously a summer faierie.  At any moment she could wave her wand and fill the place with beautiful blooms.  In the booth across from her Paul Bunyan in his flannel check shirt and beard sat nursing his coffee.  Two booths behind us the family of the Three Bears had dinner...proclaiming it to be 'just right'.  There were elves and dwarfs, werewolves ... all sorts of magical and fictional beings filled the place.  Williams was THE place to be today.

  1. I'm glad to see those things through your eyes. I'm afraid mine are quite cynical the last few years.

  4. Sounds like such fun. We went to a 50's night, dinner theater thing, once where the ad said to "come dressed in your favorite 50's style clothing for much fun". My party of 4 were the only ones dressed in 50's garb out of about 150 people who attended the event. It was a bit strange but we had fun interacting with the people who were part of the cast and I even got pulled into a Hula Hoop contest on stage. The actors did come over to our table and thank us for dressing up even though it was a bit awkward for us. We did get the strangest look from people but we had fun with it.
