Thoroughly Confused

No longer 'only slightly confused' I am now 'completely and thoroughly and hopelessly confused'.  Long wekends do that to me.  This week started on a Tuesday which put garbage day off by one and shopping day off by a couple since I didn't want to shop on the same day everyone else was going to mob the stores.  I've been trying to get a knitting project finished, the hubs birthday is Friday and his family birthday party is Saturday. He has asked for a turkey dinner so that meant juggling things in the fridge to make room for a defrosting turkey.  He asked for an apple spice cake which meant going through the cupboards and making a list of things needed for the recipe.  A delivery was supposed to be coming on Tuesday but came on Wednesday.  A prescription has needed refilling for lo these past two weeks but the doctor is on holiday and will be back on Monday which means she will be overloaded with prescription refills to call in so I'll have to wait for that until maybe Wednesday.  I have gout and am trying to balance two prescriptions in order to clear it up so I can do all this cleaning and cooking for Saturday.  Two of the people coming won't eat turkey so there's that to figure out......    if I get through the rest of this week and the weekend without totally losing my mind I'll be doing well.  Hopefully next week I'll be only slightly confused once again.

  1. Those long weekends always throw everything off, I find. We are creatures of habit!! Good luck getting everything done. I switched to fresh turkey instead of frozen a few years back. It saves one more step. But you still need room in the fridge for the darn thing :) Your husband is a lucky man - turkey dinner, apple spice cake - mmmmmmmmmmmm

    1. Here's hoping that cake comes out all right. It's been a long long time.

  4. I am either a day behind or a day ahead. To make it worse, this is February with only 28 days. We will be into March two days before I know it.

    1. The hubs has asked me at least once a week if this is a 29 day month or a 28 day month.

  5. It doesn't take much to get me mixed up on days either, after retiring I always joked that "Every day is Saturday" but now I have a hard time figuring out when Saturday really is when I get off simply by one day, and a Monday holiday definitely does that for me too.

  6. Two of the people won't eat Turkey? Let them eat just vegetables and birthday cake. Hope the birthday dinner goes well and the gout doesn't cause you too much trouble.

  7. Oh my, oh my! I do hope it all works out perfectly for you. Now take three deep breaths and start with the first thing on your list. Be blessed!

  8. Do not lose your mind. In my experience it is very hard to find again. Take care of that gout and enjoy the party. HUGS B

    1. I've got both your blogs in my sidebar. Quite right about those minds being hard to find once lost.....found mine in the garbage the last time I lost it.

  9. I've been off-kilter all week because of the Monday holiday, too. All day long today, I've felt like it's Saturday. Nuts.

It sounds like you've got too much too handle at the same time. Especially with gout! That's no fun at all. Be well and enjoy the party. Phooey on cleaning the house, and if some of the guests don't eat turkey, let 'em bring a bucket of chicken, or something. You aren't running a restaurant, doggone it.

    Have a super unconfused weekend.

    1. I'm just about as ready as I can be. The turkey goes in the oven at 7:30 in the morning.

  10. I don't believe I could surmount such obstacles anymore. I haven't cooked a huge meal in ages. As for the person who won't eat turkey...tick them off you list first:-)
