The ravings and ramblings of a retired lunatic....once professional, now just an amateur.
I'm not an expert but it looks like a cat caught a bird,,or a cat left it calling card lol,, looks like it scraped a mound of snow up lol,,but looks like cat tracks,, maybe???
I think the tracks are too big for a cat...also...no trace of a kill ie...blood/feathers/fur.
I'm no expert but could this be where a cat used this spot as a litterbox? Walked up, did his business, then scratched around to cover it up.
I don't think it was a cat...I know cat tracks when I see them, rabbit tracks and raccoon tracks and pssum tracks.....I'm wondering about a dog or coote possibly....now if my Dad was still with me he would know...he was a teapper.
oboy......thats possum and coyote
Could have been a Coyote, walked in made a turn around and walked out, we actually had one come in here around 8am one morning and made off with one of Cindy's chickens...her chickens are not being let out near as early in the morning now.
Not sure what kind of critter, but it was clearly doing the Cha Cha Cha!
Deep in the night, oh what a fright, a monster dancing the cha cha cha.
I came back to see if anyone helped you find out this dilemma,, what about a fox,, its step pattern is that of a fox as well,,lol,, what a mystery,
We have seen a fox around here in the past.....just could be....good idea.
I was going to say cat as well, but you mentioned they look too large. So I'm no help!
Ah but you tried.....that's the important part.
Well if those prints have rounded paw prints, I would say cat, who did it's "duty" and headed home (bigger paws could be Bobcat). If the prints are pointy, I would say coyote. I think you should sit out there and wait for it to return...LOL!!!...:)JP
We don't have bobcats around here....I least, I hope we don't. The prints are slightly pointed.
Peg Leg Jack who lost his other, good leg, maybe?
And decided to do a hornpipe in front of our steps?
Looks like something tried to bury something, perhaps a cat, they've been known to scratch/scoop in a circle to cover whatever it is they've dropped.
It must have been one heck of a big cat then.
Fox, deer, or a Wooly Mammoth.
I'll vote for Wooly Mammoth...I'd like to see one of those live and in person.
To me looks like a fox, if he was carrying something maybe he fumbled a bit
Contrrary to popular opinion...when the hubs shovelled the sidewalk off there was no 'gift' under the snow lol. It just might have been a fox. Strange things happen under the midnight sky.
I think Woolly Mammoth too:):) Whatever it is it is very flexible. HUGS BI changed my blog link :) xo B
Never say you don't have Bobcats around. They are everywhere.
It's lovely to know someone else is out there. Please leave me a comment...pretty please.
