Using Wednesday's Words

Although I am taking a blog break there is no way I am going to miss Words For Wednesday.
EC is providing the prompts this month and this weeks selection is as follows:
copper, explain, ill-fated, truck, neat, unite
and/or
branch, educated, tenuous, hum, decisive and notice.

Let's give it a shot:

"I've got a tenuous grip on this ladle at best Grace." Estelle said through gritted teeth.  "Just exactly what DO you have in this old copper kettle?"
"I can't explain right now." Grace replied as she made a few decisive passes over the simmering contents with her wand.  "Just keep the contents moving."
"An educated guess would be skunk tails and mouse guts.  How is it you don't seem to notice how very bad that smells?"  Screech put in from the open window.  He flew off to a nearby branch putting some distance between himself and the stench.
"No such thing." Grace laughed and happily hummed a little tune as she added ingredients.
"There now, if you will just unite with me Estelle, in lifting this out.....I think the trucks carburetor is neat and clean once more.
After that ill-fated trip to town last week it was obvious some mechanical repair work was required.  It should be good to go once more."

  1. Well done Delores, you sure had me thinking anything except carburetor, nice job with the words too.

  2. I am so glad that Estelle and Grace are back with us. My (selfish) self grieved about missing your W4W while you were having a break.
And I loved this. I wonder whether Joanne Noragon's Laura would be able to identify the ingredients in that potion...

  3. Guess I could share this information with our local automotive shot. They may not know how to clean a carburetor properly. LOL Wondered if you would show up for this Delores. Glad you did.
