Pure Fantasy

He asked her if she really believed all that nonsense she was spouting...about aliens from another planet visiting, people dying and going on to another plane of existence, of maybe going down to the basement one day and stepping into another dimension never to be seen again.
She just smiled and said, "I believe anything is possible...anything at all so why not believe in aliens and other dimensions?  Why not believe that all time exists all the time and that everything that was ever here is still here and that nothing really exists at all.  Why not believe one day everything, every person, every planet, every particle of dust in the universe is going to come together in one Big Bang to form a new cosmos full of untapped potential.  After happened once least once."
Then she stepped off the bottom step onto the basement floor and disappeared.

  1. I hope 'he' opened his mind a little more.

  2. I'd love to know where she disappeared to. How could he not believe after such a demonstration?

  3. This is good! There's a Tom Robbins quote from way back: "I believe in everything; nothing is sacred. I believe in nothing; everything is sacred."

I kind of veer wildly between dark skepticism about everything and wanting to give every colorful possibility a chance. I just don't know.

    1. That's the best part....we just don't know.....leaves anything and everything open to possibility.

  4. Well done; and so true--we don't know.

  5. Such a cool story! Send me to that basement.

  6. I love you snippet stories but they leave me hungry for more. I might need to use them as inspiration for my own work sometime.

  7. Ooooh! My most favourite kind of writing! Mysterious. Unexplained. Yummy!

It's lovely to know someone else is out there. Please leave me a comment...pretty please.
