Fashionista

A happy day today as we took our seven year old grand daughter out shopping for some back to school clothes.  A white denim jacket got top marks as did a pretty coral coloured top and black leggings.  New shoes, a few more tops and leggings and she declared herself satisfied.  She spent the time happily holding up tops to bottoms and layering the jacket over the top and deciding if she would wear her hair up or down on the first day of school. 'Up' won out because it looked more 'grown up' with the pierced ear rings she got for her birthday in July.  Now she is wondering if she can add rhinestones to her backpack for a little added flair.  Great fun.  It's the wee mans turn tomorrow.

  1. What's with the leggins? I cannot get my granddaughter into anything else. I buy them by the gross.

    1. I know......they all look like they are running around in public in long underwear. Whatever....at least they're covered.

    1. I miss the little babies they used to be but the people they are growing in to are quite interesting.

  3. Awww ... I love it. Reminds me of our daughter when she was that age. And Jimmy's right, they sure grow up fast. Faster than we did, for sure.

  4. It sounds like a lovely day for all of you. Something I don't remember about my own back to school shopping.

    1. I didn't go 'back to school' shopping as a kid. Mom ordered everything from Eastons catalogue. Our version of 'on line shopping' in the day.

  5. A true girly girl, rhinestones on the backpack and trying out hairstyles already. She sounds like fun, my grand daughter was similar.

    1. She's more fun to take shopping than her mother was at that age.

    2. "Girls just want to have fun". Your trip with your grandson will possibly be a lot different. When it comes to shopping, boys would rather go home.

    3. Oh no...not the wee man. He has a very strong style sense and is very firm on what he will NOT wear.

  6. Sounds like everyone had a great time. Those days are long passed for me. No more little ones nearby. Enjoy the time together.
