An Empty Mind is a Terrible Thing

Driving along Woolwich St yesterday I was pondering my lack of ideas for a blog post for this morning.  I happened to glance up and saw a second floor office I guess over a store...and in the window a young woman with her head in her hands.

Lady in the window
head in hand,
you look so sad,
do you need a friend?
If I tap on your window
we could share our fears.
You dry mine,
I'll dry your tears.
The world is a dark place
when you're alone.
So many around us
weep and moan.
Put a light in your window,
a candle by your door,
a beacon in the darkness
to a friendly shore.

An incomplete thought is better than no thought at all...yes?

  1. I wouldn't call that incomplete, not by a long shot. I would call is excellent thoughts on observations while driving.

  2. So lovely........... now that's creativity. Too bad she doesn't know how she affected your day. We all need to be mindful of the little things we do.

  3. Sounds like a thoughtful, busy brain in your head.

I've done the head in hands thing on a long day at the office. I've also done the head on the arms on the desk thing. Just the chance to close my strained eyes and drift for a few minutes can be very refreshing and allow me to finish the work I need to do.

  4. Not from an empty mind. I like it.

  5. I wouldn't call it an incomplete thought. You took a chance sighting and turned it into something meaningful. Your imagination and creativity are going strong. Like Sharon said, I like it, too.

  6. I like it too, very nicely spoken.

  7. Late to the party - but echoing. Not incomplete at all.

  8. I totally agree with what Susan said "You took a chance sighting and turned it into something meaningful."

    All the best Jan

  9. We have all been the lady in the window. Some days are harder than others. Well done, Delores.

It's lovely to know someone else is out there. Please leave me a comment...pretty please.
