Poetry Monday

Poetry Monday was started by our good Friend Diane at On the Alberta Montana Border.  You can find her in my sidebar.    Join in...write something, read something, critique something, share your thoughts and ideas.  We want to hear from you.

Timing Is Everything

Time goes forward,
never back.
Of backwardness
it shows a lack.
My clock it ticks.
It never talks.
How fast it moves
always shocks.
This clock sat
on my folks shelf
and now, belongs
to me….myself.
I’d love to turn
it’s old hands back
but time goes forward,
never back.

  1. How true it is. And have you noticed how flexible time is? An hour can last an eternity and a year disappear faster than a cup of coffee. Time is a trickster.

    1. very flexible. the longest minute in the history of time is the one where the midwife says, hold, don't push just yet.

    2. It's magic......the days can seem like an eternity but the week passes so quickly.

  2. Forever forward, yet sometimes one might be forgiven thinking that time has slipped backward when people are seen wearing clothes your grandmother wore.

  3. It's true. The saying that is often told to new parents is "the days are long but the years are short" ... but it's not just for parents. For instance, I really don't know what happened to January and February. And here it is almost the end of March. Eek.
