Poetry Monday

Apple Blossom Time

Just two streets over
lady of spring,
into donning her finery early,
under the weight
of her disappointment
and shame.
(and an unexpected snow load)
It was Mother Nature's
cruel joke.
There will be
no apples this year.

Poetry Monday was started by our good friend Diane from On The Alberta Montana Border (you can find her in my sidebar).   Join in, write some poetry (it doesn't have to rhyme you know), read some poetry, share some insights, critique us......have some fun.

  1. Someone (Rumi?) said that poetry is the language of the heart. And your poems always speak directly to mine. Thank you.

  2. Well spoken plus raising concern for the apple:-)

  3. Yes, so often Mother Nature plays ticks on us ...
But the plants and flowers do so often come through in the end, and for that I am very grateful.

Liked your words here, thank you.

    All the best Jan

  4. Nature's cruel joke indeed! *sob*

  5. Nature's left hand doesn't know what her right hand is doing ... we've had an encore of snow here also.

  6. It was wonderful having that warm weather, but a bummer when it turns around and bites us. Lots of things have started to bloom early but we are hearing about snow for the weekend. Damn, damn, damn.

  7. Mother Nature plays these cruel tricks year after year, and each time everyone is surprised. Even the trees haven't learnt to wait her out.

It's lovely to know someone else is out there. Please leave me a comment...pretty please.
