Poetry Monday

Moisture Magic

Sinuous,
swirling,
seeping into corners of fence rows,
undulating over fields,
it drapes the woods
with bridal veils,
distorts the most familiar of objects
into images of horror,
coats window panes
and branches
with pearls,  beads,  of moisture
lending mystery and magic
to the everyday,
then, gently lays
a cold wet kiss on your cheek.
                              It’s foggy today.

  1. Great description of the fog - especially good is the "cold wet kiss on your cheek"! I love a foggy day.

I forgot again until the last moment, AFTER I had posted my Monday piece. Perhaps I will post poetry all through April since it's Poetry Month! And in the meantime, just enjoy others' writing.

  2. I like fog, as long as I don't have to be out in it. It's a nightmare for those who are driving though.

  3. I love the fog. I love the wet 'quiet'. How everything sounds hollow or muffled.
Amazing poem, Delores! As always! :)

  5. Great words to describe a foggy day.

    I'm with River - I don't like driving when it's foggy either.

    All the best Jan

It's lovely to know someone else is out there. Please leave me a comment...pretty please.
