Long Forgotten

Deep, dark eyes
meet mine
over the business end
of a pacifier.
They are rich
with a knowledge
I have long forgotten.
Soon, he too
will forget the magic
of those early days;
the memory
of what came
before,
before the light
and the noise,
before
the life.
One day
I will remember,
when it's time
to return.

  1. Your writing is beautiful. Sometimes I get that sense of wisdom emanating from a tree when I touch it. Remember in Tolkien how the trees decide to move to protect the warriors on the side of good?

    1. hmmm...I've been accused of many things....'a little loopy' 'a bit bats' 'bonkers' but never wisdom. Thank you for your kind words.

  3. Very introspective. And we'll all find out in the end, eh?
