Restless Leg Awareness Day

A special day to promote awareness of Restless Leg Syndrome.  No, I don't mean someone addicted to travel.  That's an entirely different kind of restless legs.  Restless Leg Syndrome refers to jerky and uncontrollable movements of the legs (and sometimes the arms) often during rest.  So far there is no cure for either kind of Restless Legs.

  1. And they are no fun at all. I didn't realise that there was an awareness day though. Which is silly of me. There seems to be an awareness day for everything now.

  2. As a sufferer of restless leg syndrome, I fully support this Awareness Day. I hope also that an Awareness Day will someday be established for awareness itself --especially where highway traffic is concerned.

  3. I've heard of restless legs and that it is very distressing. I'm glad I don't have it. The aching from varicose veins is bad enough.

  4. I used to hear this being talked about on TV in a promotion for a medicine, but have not heard about it in years.

  5. You made me smile with the addicted to travel. That's pretty good.

  6. Thanks for making us... aware. I don't have a problem with either definition of this affliction, and from what I've heard about the medical version, I'm very grateful I don't.

I've read numerous anecdotal reports that putting a bar of soap under the bedcovers helps alleviate leg cramps, and possibly the restlessness, too. This makes absolutely NO logical sense to me, but if I had the problem, I'd be willing to give it a shot. (If nothing else, it'd make the bed smell good...)
